Each Valduero with his Cup

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.

Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humor and the like).

Vineyards and Production

The most prestigious and expensive wine in Spain

Lantigua is proof of the eternal life achieved by the Tempranillo grape. It is handcrafted, entirely artisanal, with destemming and pressing done by hand in 500-liter oak barrels.

Origin of the vineyard

DO Ribera del Duero. Vines >70 years old in Viña “El Cascorral” (alluvial soil with stones, 800 m, approx. 90 years old) and plots of clay and limestone at 890 m. Density: 2,600 plants/ha. High-altitude terroir and slow ripening.

Field handling

Vase-shaped training system, no irrigation. Traditional fertilization with sheep manure. Very low yield: 1,000 kg/ha, for maximum concentration. Manual management of vegetation and vigor.

Harvesting and sorting

First week of October. Hand-harvested in 14 kg crates to preserve the grapes. Selection of the best bunches in the vineyard. Immediate transfer to the winery to maintain freshness and purity.

Production and aging

Artisanal production: selected bunches are destemmed and pressed by hand in oak barrels. Aged for 4 years in 5 different types of oak (January 1990–1994), without blending, resting in caves with earthen walls. Result: complexity, finesse, and great aging potential.

Vintages that are between 30 and 35 years old, meaning they have been in the bottle for between 25 and 30 years, represent the pinnacle of an idea
