Valduero 12 Years is a 100% Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, sourced from vines over 90 years old with yields of 1,500 kg/ha. Hand-destemmed and fermented (alcoholic and malolactic) in 500L French oak barrels, it matures for 4 years in barrel plus 8 years in bottle . Aromas of black fruit, cocoa, cedar, and balsamic notes. A deep, silky, and exceptionally long palate. A limited and numbered production edition: a collector's wine.

Viñedos y Elaboración

In 2004 we selected, bunch by bunch, the best Tempranillo grapes from our best vineyards.

We harvest with care and dedication, using entirely artisanal methods. Patient aging in the world's finest oak for four years, followed by a long, calm period of bottle aging for over 16 years.

Origen del viñedo

Vineyards between 52 and 100 years old in three plots: El Cascorral (alluvial soil with stones, 800 m), Del Monte (clay-sandy soil among pines, 890 m, 70 years old) and Del Peñón (stony soil on a moorland slope, 927 m, 52 years old). Density: 2,600 plants/ha.

Manejo en el campo

Vase-shaped training system, no irrigation. Traditional fertilization with sheep manure. Selection of plots with very low yields: 1,500 kg/ha, seeking concentration and natural balance.

Vendimia y selección

First week of October. Hand-harvested in 14 kg boxes to preserve the integrity of the grape and aromatic freshness from the vineyard to the winery.

Elaboración y crianza

Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in 500L French oak barrels. Minimum aging of 48 months in oak barrels from 6 different origins, refining complexity and length on the palate.
